Things About Barbara

I have had 70+ articles published at two San Diego area local newspapers, The Star News and The Imperial Beach Times, covering the South Bay. I have also spent 11 years working in group homes for teenagers while I worked on my bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a minor in English, from San Diego State University.

I have a green belt (a fighting belt) in Kung Fu San Su. I’ve also studied boxing and Karate so I know how to fight, as does my heroine, Paige Jagger.

I have a 50,000 word memoir, The Best of Luck, in which I reveal that I have a genie. My first writing project was a 20-hour interview with my late father-in-law for an audio book. While in the U.S. State Department, Frank Foss ran a crucial port in South Vietnam during the war. At the pinnacle of his seven-year career he was moving building material, shelters, and food to half of the South Vietnam countryside. He was close to a plum promotion in the State Department when his wife abandoned their six children behind in Bangkok and ran off with a writer.
